Reed making is an inexhaustible source of art

A simple and unique form of Kazakh handicraft, which has amazed many people with its amazing talent, is the combination of reed cutting, making very valuable products from it. One of the proofs of its high value is the fact that reed items are used in the creation of elongated girls, which spoils the appearance of the property, gives the house a national color and glorifies the human spirit.
Reed blanket. A quilt with a combination of fabric fragments, mascots, eight leaves, rhombic patterns is called a reed or reed blanket. From time immemorial, the hospitable Kazakh people considered the species a "sacred place" for guests. A reed blanket is made of cotton or sheep's and camel's wool.
The talented students of the "Design" educational program of the "Design and Art" faculty make everything from a reed blanket to a reed vest, from a reed blanket to a reed toy, and show that wonderful things come to life in a simple way.
In the Kazakh tradition, making reeds, the main products of which are blankets, tuskiiz, pillows, and various toys, is a craft that girls should learn from an early age. It strengthens girls' endurance, economy, skill, distinguishes colors, understands and recognizes their harmony with each other, encourages purity, beauty, enriches the soul and expands the field of thought.
Our goal is to promote the art and culture, language, customs and traditions of the Kazakh people on the basis of education and knowledge of one of the crafts of the Kazakh people - the art of reed-making, instilling in them the centuries-old upbringing of their nation, moral principles.
