In 1998, the Syrdarya University was opened in the city of Zhetysai in the Zhetysai district of the South Kazakhstan region of the modern Turkestan region in order to attract young people from remote areas of the southern part of the country to higher education. It was an educational center that was opened with the aim of solving social problems by educating them to be spiritually rich, intelligent and qualified specialists. For 23 years, this educational institution has become one of the private higher education institutions with a long history and traditions. In this regard, the government and the Ministry of Science and Education have received a proposal to move this university to Shymkent. It was proposed to name the university after a famous statesman and public figure, Zhumabek Tashenov. The proposal was adopted unanimously. Now in the form of a third megacity. Tashenov University will start the new academic year 2022-2023. It should be noted that Zhumabek Tashenov opposed the transfer of five regions of Kazakhstan to Russia, such as Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, Kokshetau, Akmola, and resisted the decision to transfer cotton-growing areas to Uzbekistan and the Mangistau peninsula of Turkmenistan, thereby having a huge impact on preserving the integrity of the Kazakh land.the man who did it. And it is a great honor for an educational institution to be named a university in honor of such a giant. Now, in New Kazakhstan, a new university named after a native of the Kazakh nation has big tasks for this new academic year. It's about to start. One of the main objectives of the university is to become an educational center that trains competitive specialists in the labor market who meet modern requirements and make a significant contribution to the development of the region in the implementation of the Development Strategy until 2025. To do this, the main requirement in this area is to update educational programs taking into account changes in the labor market, and all conditions are being considered for its implementation. Today, the university offers 56 bachelor's degree programs. there are licenses for the right to conduct educational activitiesin 12 areas of the master's degree, Currently, life shows that priority should be given not only to technical specialties, but also to humanitarian professions, especially since the dictates of the times require the formation of a new generation of engineers and industrialists. In this direction, the Zhumabek Tashenov University is preparing educational programs in the field of technical agriculture, service and veterinary medicine, taking into account the requirements of employers.
