The objectives of the Academic Council are
to develop priorities and principles for the development of the university, create a legislative mechanism for high-quality training of graduates, preserve and increase material resources and qualifications of employees, and effective work of the team.
The activities of the Academic Council of the University are based on the principles of publicity and collective discussion of issues within its competence.
The main tasks of the Academic Council:

Creation of the necessary conditions for students and teaching staff of the University for the successful implementation of educational programs of higher and postgraduate education

Providing high quality training of specialists in accordance with state general educational and international standards of higher and postgraduate education

Ensuring financial solvency, strengthening the material and technical base of the University

Contributing to the further development of the University
The main functions of the Academic Council:
- 1. Definition of the concept of university development;
- 2. Approval of the policy and development goals of the University;
- 3. Changes and additions to the University Charter;
- 4. Approval of the structure of the University, its staffing table;
- 5. Creation, reorganization and liquidation of educational and scientific departments of the university (laboratories, departments, faculties, centers and others);
- 6. Hearing the annual reports of the rector, vice-rectors, heads of structural divisions on the forms and methods of conducting educational, research, educational, financial, economic, informational and international activities;
- 7. The decision to open new areas of educational activities;
- 8. Consideration and recommendation for the publication of textbooks, teaching aids and educational and methodological developments;
- 9. Making a decision on transferring students from a paid department to an educational grant, providing benefits for tuition fees;
- 10. Approval of research topics and assignment of scientific advisers-consultants to undergraduates and doctoral students;
- 11. Approval of the working curriculum, academic calendars, educational process schedule and changes to them;
- 12. Organization of control over the financial and economic activities of the university;
- 13. Consideration of issues on the presentation of university employees, creative teams for government awards, honorary titles, academic titles;
- 14. Consideration of other issues of the current activities of the university that require a collegial decision.
