DOMBYRA IS A PRECIOUS TREASURE OF KAZAKHSTAN

      The dombra is the most popular two-stringed, multi-key musical instrument of the Kazakh people.      The history of this musical instrument goes back centuries. Archaeologists have unearthed terracotta images of musicians playing double-edged instruments in excavations in the ancient city of Khorezm. Scholars have noted that this was a musical instrument of the nomadic Saka tribes, who lived two thousand years ago.
    
     These ancient two-stringed instruments have many similarities with the Kazakh dombra and are its prototype. Thus, archeology revealed that the dombra appeared in ancient times. There are two types of dombra: western and eastern. It is distinguished by two types of performance traditions. It is the only dombra that reflects the Kazakhness of the Kazakh people.
