In 1992-1996, he served as vice-rector of the Shymkent Pedagogical Institute, then vice-rector for educational work of the Shymkent branch of the Pedagogical Institute named after. Auezov.
In 1996-2000, he was the director of the Zhetysai branch of the Russian Technical University, and the rector of the non-state higher college "Syrdariya". In 2000-2004, he served as rector of Syrdarya University.
In 2004-2007, he was elected as a deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, secretary of the Committee for Social and Cultural Development of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He held the position of Deputy General Director of the joint fund of NSC Samruk-Kazyna and SK Astana.
From 2011 to 2019, he served as rector of the Shymkent Pedagogical Institute.
