An open lesson at the intersection of knowledge and innovation

On March 7, 2025, G.Zhasan, a Master’s degree holder and Senior Lecturer at the Department of «Economics and Management», conducted an open practical session for students of the IEF-22-2k group on the discipline «New Technologies in Economic Information Systems», focusing on the topic «Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Its Application in Economics».  
The primary objective of the session was to explain the basic principles of artificial intelligence and demonstrate its practical applications in the economic sphere. G.Zhasan provided a detailed overview of AI development stages,machine learning methods, neural networks, and big data analysis.  
During the practical segment, students explored examples of AI implementation in economic processes. They engaged with predictive and data analysis models, completing tasks such as risk assessment in the financial sector, forecasting consumer demand, and automating business processes.  
An interactive discussion was also organized, where students debated the impact of AI on business, its advantages, and limitations. The session further addressed potential challenges in AI adoption and associated ethical considerations, fostering critical thinking about the integration of AI in economic systems.  
This comprehensive approach highlighted both the transformative potential of AI in economics and the importance of addressing its complexities responsibly.
