Tashenev's concern for the national intelligentsia is enormous. In 1956, at the 20th Party Congress, the important question of justifying the victims of Stalinist repressions was raised. Zhumabek Tashenov was elected chairman of the commission for the rehabilitation of people's leaders who fell into a trap in the tragic year of 1937. At that moment, our innocently injured figures began to receive excuses. It was a great event that awakened the spirit of the nation. The names of Saken Seifullin, Beimbet Mailin, Ilyas Zhansugirov were returned to the Kazakh people. Such literary masterpieces as "Shuganyn belgisi", "Kokshetau", "Kulager" were republished.
Representatives of the national intelligentsia, such as Ermukhan Bekmakhanov, Bek Suleimenov, Esmagambet Ismailov, Khamza Yesenzhanov, Zein Shashkin, Mukhamedzhan Karataev, were released. Also after this time, attention began to be paid to the life of the national intelligentsia. In 1960, 121 apartments built in the very center of Almaty were handed over to artists and people's figures. “Many artists, writers, intellectuals at that time lived without apartments. The Union of Writers was instructed to compile a list. The whole house, built on the corner of modern Kabanbai Batyr and Konaev streets, was given to the Kazakh intelligentsia.
