The Mayor of Shymkent, Gabit Syzdykbekov, Familiarized Himself with the Innovative IT Infrastructure of Tashenev University
As part of the working visit, the Tashenev AI Lab artificial intelligence laboratory was presented. It is a next-generation integrated educational and technological ecosystem covering a total area of 300 square meters, combining advanced areas of digital and engineering technologies aimed at training future specialists.
The laboratory is not just a collection of equipment, but a unified platform where all elements are interconnected. It integrates a humanoid robot, drone football, drone logistics, a drone control simulator, VR chemistry with an AI tutor, holograms and AI agents, Big Data and a situational center, as well as a 3D printing and CNC center. These solutions enable the transition from theoretical knowledge to real engineering projects and fully meet the modern demands of the digital economy.
During the visit, the city head was introduced to the university’s own projects, with special emphasis on the practical orientation of the laboratory. Among them are developments in drone technologies and autonomous systems, drone logistics solutions for Smart City applications, as well as innovative methods of teaching chemistry using virtual environments and modern digital tools. These approaches allow for safe, interactive, and personalized experimentation.
Following the meeting, Gabit Syzdykbekov highly appreciated the applied nature, technological relevance, and scalability potential of the presented projects, noting their importance for the development of the IT sector, the formation of human capital, and strengthening the status of Shymkent.
Within the framework of the meeting, Chairman of the Board, academician and Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Onalbai Ayashev, along with the university rector Kanat Baibolov, presented to the mayor a project for the construction of a new modern academic building in the Shymkent City microdistrict. This project will become an important stage in expanding educational infrastructure, introducing advanced teaching technologies, and further developing the university as a regional innovation hub.
The implementation of Tashenev AI Lab projects and the development of new infrastructure demonstrate a modern model of higher education. In this model, students are not just learners, but creators of innovative solutions and active participants in the processes of transforming the digital economy and society.
