Department of Science and Innovation at Tashenov University is a specialized unit responsible for coordinating and overseeing research activities across all parts of the university. Its main goal is to improve the effectiveness of scientific and innovation work, fully unlock the staff’s scholarly potential, and develop the material and technical base for research.
- Implement state science policy at the university level;
- Support the comprehensive development of R&D and student R&D in line with global scientific achievements;
- Coordinate and monitor research carried out by departments, institutes, research institutes, centers, and laboratories;
- Organize and supervise measures to improve the quality of publications by staff and teaching faculty (in impact-factor and ranked journals, etc.);
- Support and control the securing of legal protection for research results (patents and other IP titles);
- Coordinate and monitor the execution of R&D plans of the university and its units;
- Organize and oversee participation of staff and faculty in scientific project competitions at various levels;
- Prepare and supervise international and national scientific events of the university approved by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MSHE RK);
- Coordinate student research clubs;
- Organize and supervise the participation of master’s and bachelor’s students in competitions, olympiads, scientific conferences, and similar events.

- The centers operate under relevant regulations, job descriptions, work plans, and reporting forms stipulated by the quality management system. The annual R&D report is presented to the Academic Council. The university also has a Council of Young Scientists and a Scientific-Methodological Council.
