ABOUT THE FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCES

The Faculty of Natural Sciences is one of the university’s key academic divisions, preparing competitive professionals in the natural sciences through the integration of education, research, and innovation.

The primary goal of the Faculty is to prepare professionals who possess in-depth subject knowledge, research, pedagogical, and digital competencies, a strong environmental awareness, and a high degree of social responsibility, enabling them to meet the current demands of the labour market.

The educational process at the Faculty is based on the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical training, the application of modern teaching technologies, and the development of students’ research abilities. Digital educational resources, laboratory investigations, project-based and problem-based learning, case studies, and innovative student-centred approaches are widely used in the teaching process.

In addition to providing high-quality education, the Faculty’s academic staff systematically engage in research, teaching methodology, and educational and developmental activities. Faculty members actively contribute to improving educational programmes, implementing research projects, developing teaching and learning materials, and publishing research findings.

Students of the Faculty actively participate in research projects, subject Olympiads, scientific and practical conferences, start-up projects, and intellectual and creative competitions. Academic, teaching, industrial, and research placements are organised to enable students to apply and consolidate their theoretical knowledge in practical settings.

The Faculty cooperates with secondary education institutions, research organisations, industrial enterprises, and other partners, placing particular emphasis on aligning the content of its educational programmes with employers’ requirements. It also seeks to develop cooperation with national and international organisations through academic mobility, the exchange of experience, and joint academic and methodological activities.
