“Art and artistic work”

The Department of Art, established in 2003 on the basis of the pedagogical and artistic specialties of Syrdarya University, has now been transformed into the Department of Art and Artistic Labor and continues its activities. Despite the fact that over the years of its existence, this department has repeatedly changed the name and composition of educational programs, it was headed by senior lecturer Ashimova M., Ph.D., Associate professor Baimakhanov K., Ph.D. Bolysbaev S.S., Associate professor U.A. Saparbayeva. Along with the creation of the material and technical base of the department and the proper organization of educational work, the heads of departments paid great attention to the education of young professionals who came to teaching. At the same time, a close-knit team was formed, firmly adhering to the principles of morality and respect for each other.
Since 2025, the head of the Department of Art and Artistic Labor has been PhD, Associate Professor Konakbayeva Ulzhamal Zhandaralievna.
Today, the department is doing a lot of work on organizing the educational process, educating students, training high–level specialists, strengthening the material and technical base of the department, establishing research work, and opening new specialties.
The scientific potential of the department is at a high level: 1 professor, 1 Doctor of Sciences, 2 PhD doctors, 3 PhD candidates, 2 associate professors, 1 Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 3 cultural Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 9 masters, 1 lecturer.
Many teachers are prize-winners of international and national competitions, holders of state grants, holders of the title "cultural worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan".
The educational process is organized according to modern educational technologies in accordance with the requirements of state educational standards. To teach students according to the credit system, the faculty carries out systematic work on filling the book fund with educational and methodological literature, introducing new innovative technologies into the learning processes, informatization and computerization of the educational process. All departments have computer labs connected to the Internet via a corporate node.
Teaching staff of the Department of Art and Artistic Labor are engaged in the training of teaching staff and qualified specialists in bachelor's degree programs 6B01403-Teacher training of art and drawing, 6B01406-Art education (IP), 6B01407-Fundamentals of labor training and Entrepreneurship (IP), 6B01410-Teacher training of technology and art, 6B01408-Music education (IP), 6B01402-Music teacher training, 6B02121-Pop vocals.
During the year of the department's establishment, more than three thousand highly qualified specialists have been trained for secondary and vocational schools in the region and the city.
Currently, the department has 5 lecture halls, 25 classrooms, 6 special classrooms, 1 art studio and 1 painting workshop, sewing and decorative arts workshops, 1 inclusive education room, 2 computer labs, 5 reading rooms, 2 classrooms of the department.

The department's staff has developed several textbooks, educational-methodical manuals, educational-methodical complexes based on credit technology (syllabus), methodical instructions for disciplines, lecture collections, texts for students' independent work, and electronic textbooks.

The staff of the "Art and Artistic Labor" department trains qualified specialists who can work in the fields of education, science and culture. The department's teachers are engaged in creative work and are laureates of republican, international, and regional festivals of various levels. They also actively participate in all events held at the faculty, university, and city levels.
