REQUIREMENT to refute information that does not correspond to reality

Edition of the international news agency TAUNEWS.KZ

On June 12, 2020, TAUNEWS.KZ posted on the INSTAGRAM social network page the table “Universities that are deprived of a license to study,” where "Syrdariya" University (Turkestan region) is indicated in line 3 of the table, with reference to the information of the Chairman of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Sciences.

However, in accordance with the resolution of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the license to study "Syrdariya" University was not revoked, only the application to the license for the preparation of undergraduates in the 7M015 direction - training of teachers in natural sciences was revoked.

And the Chairman of the Committee G. Kobenova on the department’s page on Facebook announced information on the deprivation of the University’s license only in a separate direction.

Therefore, the information of TAUNEWS.KZ about the revocation of a license to study at "Syrdariya" University is not true and in accordance with Article 19 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Mass Media” is subject to refutation.

At the same time, we draw attention to the fact that "Syrdariya" University, according to the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IQAA), in the National ranking of the best multidisciplinary universities in Kazakhstan in 2019 took 16th place out of 116 universities, and in 2020 it took 17th place.

Moreover, the publication of false information about the revocation of a license for educational activities negatively affects the image of the University, especially during the period of admission to universities.

In connection with the foregoing, we demand to publish a refutation in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
