The department was founded in September 1998.
The department has a teaching staff of 12, 1 doctor of sciences, 4 candidates of sciences, 2 doctors of philosophy, 5 masters of sciences. Currently, the department has a 2nd bachelor's degree ("Pedagogy and Psychology", "Preschool education and upbringing" (full-time and part-time), master's degree ("Pedagogy and Psychology").
The Center for Psychological Assistance and Inclusive Support has been opened at the department, and there is a scientific circle of students and undergraduates "Young Teacher-Psychologist".
