International Scientific Seminar

On September 26, 2024, the International Scientific Seminar "Integration of Virtual Reality into the Educational Process: Prospects and Problems of Modern Higher Education" was held at the Department of English Language of the Zh. A. Tashenev University.
The seminar was attended by teachers of the department, graduate students and specialists in English working at universities in the USA, Great Britain and Russia.
The seminar was very interesting and was held in a mixed format.
Our specially invited guest, Melissa Lindsay from Minnesota, USA, came to the seminar. She made a presentation on the topic "Artificial Intelligence in Education".
The teachers and graduate students of the department listened to the reports and entered into a heated discussion. Senior lecturer of the department, S. T. Mirzagalikova, made a presentation on the topic "Using interactive teaching methods in foreign language lessons at a university. Next, the presentation was made by Elena Mikhailovna Torbik, Associate Professor of the Department of English and Professional Communication at the Moscow Financial University, Candidate of Philological Sciences, who made a presentation on the topic of "Five Essential Roles of a Teacher in an English Lesson". Okere Arnold from the British University of Business Administration, Huddersfield, UK, made a report on the topic of "Methods of Teaching English to Students" and shared his experience. Various innovative methods of teaching English, issues of educational opportunities of artificial intelligence, and the use of the latest technologies in the field of foreign language teaching methods were also discussed.

The colleagues enthusiastically discussed issues of interest and combined new technologies with science in English lessons at the university.
