February 14 – International Book Giving Day!
2026-02-13
February 14 is not only a day of kindness and respect, but also a special celebration – Book Giving Day.
The Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, consistently emphasizes the importance of developing a reading culture. In his Addresses, he highlights the special role of books in enhancing the intellectual potential of young people and stresses the need to build a “reading nation.”
As part of this initiative, a National Book Day has been proposed in the country, libraries are being modernized, digital collections are expanding, and various programs are being implemented to promote reading among children and teenagers.
On the occasion of this memorable day, university teachers and students donated books to the university library, and librarians spoke about the importance of the celebration.
The holiday was founded in 2012 by American book blogger Amy Broadmoore. Today, the international movement International Book Giving Day supports and celebrates it widely in many countries.
A book is a source of knowledge, spiritual growth, and education. Reading broadens the mind and develops imagination.
✨ On this day you can:
✔ Give a book to your loved ones
✔ Present an interesting book to children
✔ Donate books to a library and contribute to a good cause
Giving a book means giving knowledge and spiritual wealth.
A book is the spiritual capital of a nation.
Developing a reading culture is an investment in the future.
Let’s read and give books!
