Educational Excursion of Students from the Faculty of IT and Natural Sciences to Historical Sites

On January 12, 2026, under the initiative of the Faculty of IT and Natural Sciences, first-year students from groups IEF-25-9k1, IEF-25-13k5, IEF-25-13k6 participated in an educational excursion to the Museum of Victims of Political Repression in Shymkent.

The main purpose of the excursion was to acquaint students with the historical events of the political repressions of the 20th century, the fates of innocent victims, as well as to develop students’ historical awareness and foster a patriotic spirit.

The museum’s exhibitions presented the life paths of repressed figures, archival documents, photographs, and historical materials. Students gained new insights into the consequences of this difficult period in the past century and understood the importance of learning lessons from history.

The event contributed to enhancing students’ civic responsibility, cultivating respect for historical justice, and valuing national heritage. Such educational excursions, with a strong formative impact, broaden students’ horizons and strengthen their interest in the history of the country.
