Today, in Shymkent, the renovated student dormitory of Tashenev University was officially opened. It is designed for 200 residents and is fully owned by the university, marking an important step in creating comfortable conditions for students. The dormitory is equipped with everything necessary for convenient living: new beds, furniture, and bedding, as well as laundry facilities and a cafeteria. In addition, a modern sports hall is currently under construction. Vice-Rector of Tashenev University for Social and Cultural Development, Galymzhan Bitursyn, noted: “Creating a comfortable environment for students is one of our main priorities. The new dormitory is not just a building, but a true student campus. Here, young people can not only live, but also do sports and spend their free time productively. We want every student to feel at home.” First-year student Symbat Turlybek shared her impressions: “We are very happy that such conditions have been created for us. Everything here is new and modern: there is a cafeteria, laundries, and soon a sports hall will open. Now we can fully concentrate on our studies, since all everyday needs are taken care of. The accommodation fee is also very affordable. For us, this is a great support.” In addition, Tashenev University students can also live in other dormitories under a tripartite public-private partnership: on G. Ilyayev Street, Baidibek Bi Avenue, and Dulati Street (the ‘Hyper House’ building). In total, the university’s dormitories can accommodate up to 800 students.
