FIRST SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL OF THE NEW ACADEMIC YEAR: NEW TASKS AND PRIORITIES DEFINED

Today, Tashenev University hosted the Academic Council Meeting No. 1 for the 2026–2027 academic year. The important gathering on the eve of the new academic year was chaired by the Chairman of the Board of the university, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Onalbay Ayashev.
The Academic Council comprehensively reviewed the main areas of the university's activities and upcoming tasks for the new academic year. Specifically, the new composition of the Academic Council was approved, and structural changes, staff appointments, preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year, and strategic tasks were discussed. In addition, the annual work plan of the Academic Council was approved, and the performance of the admissions committee was summarized.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the readiness of the material and technical base, digital infrastructure, and security system for the new academic year. Internal normative documents of the university were reviewed, and specific objectives were established to further improve educational, research, and management processes.
Opening the meeting, Onalbay Ayashev emphasized that the university faces large-scale tasks in the coming academic year. "Every initiative of the university should primarily aim to improve the quality of education, develop science, and create favorable conditions for our students to receive a high-quality education. In the new academic year, we must not rest on our laurels, but rather elevate our academic quality, scientific potential, and the university's competitiveness to a new level. This is a shared responsibility for the entire team," said the Chairman of the Board.
Issues regarding the enhancement of the university's scientific potential were also widely discussed. Information was presented on the achievements of staff members who received academic degrees and titles, as well as on doctoral students who completed their studies or were newly admitted. Results of published papers in journals indexed in the Scopus database and recommended by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan were also summarized.
During the meeting, several instructions were given regarding quality assurance in education, the revitalization of scientific research, the development of digitalization, the improvement of university infrastructure, and the creation of a safe and modern learning environment for students in the new academic year.
The 2026–2027 academic year promises to be a year of new goals, new initiatives, and tangible results for Tashenev University!
