Master of Historical Sciences, Senior Lecturer Akmaral Aimakhanbetkyzy Zhuzzhasarova
held an open lesson (educational tour seminar) on the topic:
"A History That Must Not Be Forgotten: The Years of Repression."

The open lesson (seminar-tour), aimed at engaging students, was dedicated to revealing the historical significance of one of the most tragic periods of the 20th century — the years of political repression. The event attracted a large number of participants interested in the tragic history of Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

During the session, under the guidance of Akmaral Aimakhanbetkyzy Zhuzzhasarova, students made a “journey” into the past and became acquainted with the fates of victims of political repression.

Main aspects covered in the lesson:
The beginning of repression: causes and historical preconditions of political persecution in the 1930s–1950s.
Camp system in Kazakhstan: the establishment and functioning of Karlag and ALZHIR.
The fate of the intelligentsia: persecution of Kazakh intellectuals, their role and legacy in society.
Historical memory: issues of preserving the memory of victims and restoring historical justice.

During the lesson, new facts based on the works of historians, archivists, and researchers were presented. The importance of preserving historical memory and passing it on to future generations was emphasized.

The open lesson was attended by the Head of the Department, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor S.N. Apasheva; Senior Lecturer Zhibek Duisebayevna Sherimbayeva; and Senior Lecturer G.A. Turymbetova.

Teaching materials, archival documents, presentations, video resources, and an interactive whiteboard were used during the lesson. Students actively participated and showed great interest in the topic.

Akmaral Aimakhanbetkyzy Zhuzzhasarova effectively applied various teaching methods and conducted the lesson at a high level, once again demonstrating her creativity and professionalism. We wish her continued success and great achievements!
