Higher education rankings are an integral component of the national educational environment. For the world academic community, they are becoming more and more important, since they affect the quality assurance of education, arouse great public interest.
The Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) is the first organization in Kazakhstan and the fifth in the world whose methodology has successfully passed the audit of the International Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence IREG / Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence. The “IREG Approved” quality mark awarded to it means that the rating of IAAR universities complies with world standards, orienting higher educational institutions towards training highly competitive specialists.
A distinctive feature of the IAAR rating is also the ranking on a digital platform that includes telecommunications and computing bases using innovative IT technologies.
The following key trends in modern education act as indicators of the IAAR rating: accreditation as a recognized indicator of the quality of education (10%); the level of human resource development (20%); internationalization of higher education (15%), integration of the university into the international educational space (15%); the level of development of scientific research (20%); employment and the demand for graduates in the labor market (20%). The named indicators, being the priority components of the multifactorial methodology of the IAAR rating, which preserved the continuity of the last year, reflect the policy of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The unique digital technology, which has received European recognition, makes it possible to form not only ratings of educational programs, but also forms the basis of the General rating of universities in the Republic of Kazakhstan. This approach undoubtedly inspires confidence in the international academic community and universities, in particular, in the results of the IAAR rating.
More than 85 higher educational institutions of multidisciplinary, technical, humanitarian-economic, medical and pedagogical areas, as well as in the field of art, took part in the National Rating of the Demand for Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan-2021. This year, more than 2 thousand educational programs were ranked, which is 20% more than in the previous period. Unfortunately, not everyone managed to get into the top list of participants due to incorrect and / or incomplete input by universities of the necessary information. According to the IAAR rating methodology, universities independently enter data on their achievements and thus are responsible for the objectivity of indicators. Thus, the position of the university in the ranking depends on the completeness of filling in and the correctness of the provision of information.
The national ranking of the demand for universities in the Republic of Kazakhstan, conducted by the IAAR, allows you to get an idea of the potential, resources and priorities for their further development. All this is a fundamental factor in the process of choosing a place of study by applicants, and for parents, employers and society - an indicator of high trust.
