Оpen practical lesson "Determination of the properties of natural and chemical fibers by burning"

According to the plan of open classes on 09/11/2024, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Janpaizova V.M. in the PiK-23-17k group held an open practical lesson on the discipline "Fundamentals of materials science in fashion design" on the topic "Determination of the properties of natural and chemical fibers by burning". The purpose of the lesson is to teach students to determine the type of fibers (natural or chemical) using the gorenje method, as well as to introduce them to the patterns revealed during combustion. To develop cable analysis skills for further use of knowledge in the field of fashion design. The teacher gave a brief theoretical overview of the types of fibers (natural and chemical) and their characteristics. She noted the importance of knowledge about the characteristics of fibers in the development of clothing materials.
During the lesson, students begin to identify the type of fiber, paying attention to the behavior during ignition, odor, residues after combustion and other visual characteristics. The acquired knowledge helps to better navigate when choosing textile materials for designing clothes, taking into account their properties and behavior. The result of the lessons is the formation of practical skills, the development of analytical thinking, increased awareness of textile materials and practical training for professional activity. The results of academic performance and attendance in academic groups are discussed at meetings of the department and measures are being taken to improve quantitative and qualitative indicators of academic performance. The results of the discussion are reflected in the minutes of the department's meetings.
