A senior lecturer of the Department of Philology, Candidate of Philological Sciences Zh.N. Botabayeva, conducted an open class on the subject “Russian Literature” for the PF-22-2r group in Room 222 at 9:30 in 2022. The class was delivered by a senior lecturer of the Department of Philology.
The topic of the lesson was “Russian Literature of the 19th Century and Its Prominent Representatives.” During the class, the significance of the 19th century as the “Golden Age” in the history of Russian literature was comprehensively explained. It was emphasized that this period saw the formation of realism in literature and the extensive development of deep psychological portrayal of the human soul.
In particular, the works of Alexander Pushkin were analyzed in terms of their role in shaping the Russian literary language. In addition, the moral issues and philosophical reflections in the novels of Leo Tolstoy and Fyodor Dostoevsky were examined. Special attention was paid to the psychological mastery in Anton Chekhov’s short stories and dramatic works.
The class was conducted in an interactive format. Students worked with texts, carried out analyses, exchanged opinions, and answered questions. Through group work and discussion methods, theoretical knowledge was integrated with practical application.
In the concluding part, the lecturer emphasized the contribution of 19th-century Russian literature to world culture and explained the importance of thoroughly mastering this period for future philologists. The open class was assessed as having been conducted at a high methodological level
