A significant event for our future legal experts recently took place at our university. Students of the 1st and 3rd courses of the "Jurisprudence" educational program had the unique opportunity to learn from a top-tier practitioner: Nurzhan Ospanuly Tashtenov, Judge of the Inter-district Specialized Administrative Court of Shymkent.

The guest lecture, titled "Law and Order — A Requirement of Our Time," served as a platform for discussing the most pressing issues in Kazakhstan’s legal landscape.

Key Topics of the Lecture:

  • Legal Awareness: Nurzhan Ospanuly emphasized that compliance with the law is not just a duty, but the foundation for a stable and developing society.
  • Administrative Justice: Students gained insights into the intricacies of specialized courts and the specifics of handling administrative cases.
  • Constitutional Reforms: Special attention was given to explaining the new draft of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The judge detailed key changes aimed at strengthening the protection of citizens' rights and transforming the state model.

"For a future lawyer, it is important not only to know the letter of the law but also to understand its spirit and realize one's responsibility to society," noted Nurzhan Ospanuly during his speech.

Why This Matters for Students

Meetings like this bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world practice. Students were able to ask questions about the daily life of a judge, analyze real legal cases, and receive expert commentary on the amendments to the country's Basic Law.

The dialogue was lively and constructive, inspiring future legal professionals to dive even deeper into their chosen field.
