Tashenev University organized an informative meeting for students on the topic of public service, which plays an important role in the country’s social development. The university welcomed the Head of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs in the city of Shymkent and Chairman of the Ethics Council, Kanat Kerimkhanovich Kadyrbekov. He provided a detailed overview of recent reforms in public administration, as well as the requirements and new opportunities available for young people.

One of the topics that sparked particular interest among students was the possibility for graduates with a GPA above 3.33 to be appointed directly to vacant civil service positions without competitive testing. This was highlighted as one of the key advantages of the new model aimed at supporting talented youth.

The meeting was led by the university’s rector, Professor Kanat Baibolov. He emphasized that strengthening cooperation between the education sector and public institutions plays an important role in shaping the professional competencies of young specialists.

PhD in Philosophy Saken Mezhinbekov shared insightful reflections on the ethical foundations of public service and social responsibility, stressing that young people should approach this career path consciously.

Kanat Kerimkhanovich Kadyrbekov, noting the high level of student interest, said:

“Public service is a field that demands responsibility and professionalism. It is very important for us that young people show interest in this direction. We are ready to support every talented and educated young specialist.”

Rector Kanat Baibolov highlighted the significance of the event:

“The main task of the university is to prepare students in accordance with modern requirements and to develop highly demanded specialists. Today’s meeting is a vivid example of combining theory with practical experience.”

Expanding on the moral dimension of public service, Saken Mezhinbekov added:

“Public service is an institution of public trust. A specialist working in this field must possess a high level of worldview, culture, and ethical integrity. Choosing this path is a major responsibility for young people.”

During the event, topics such as the regional personnel reserve, the Youth Presidential Personnel Reserve, internship opportunities in government agencies, and mechanisms for entering public service were discussed. Students and faculty asked numerous questions and received practical, substantive answers.

As a result, students gained a clearer understanding of the structure, requirements, and new opportunities within the civil service system, helping them better define their professional goals.
