Tashenev University is a new university on the map of Shymkent, but far from being a newcomer in the field of higher education.
It "grew" from the well-known Syrdarya University far beyond the borders of South Kazakhstan. For more than two decades of work, the university has trained about 17 thousand teachers, proving in practice that the quality of education does not really depend on where the university is located - in a small town or in a large metropolis.
Last year, the founders decided not only to change the place of registration of the university, but also to rebrand, and at the same time expand the list of areas for training specialists and reach a new level of international cooperation. The University has successfully passed institutional accreditation, educational programs of undergraduate and graduate programs have passed international specialized accreditation in the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IQAA).
Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Work, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Parida Baineeva believes that as a result, a promising university appeared in Shymkent, which increased the number of students, strengthened the material and technical base and human resources and headed for obtaining a two-degree education.
The university is confidently following the path of establishing international relations with three universities included in the top 500 best universities in the world. With each of them, a joint educational program for a master's degree is being developed, which is based on the diversification of education through the inclusion of a student's education for at least six months. On a reciprocal basis, it is envisaged to improve the qualifications of teachers and use modern proven teaching methods. And with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, an agreement was concluded on the training of personnel in agricultural specialties, the passage of scientific internships for the teaching staff, and joint scientific research.
Negotiations are also underway with the Greek Open University to train IT specialists. National University of Athens Kapodistria will become a partner in the implementation of a joint program for the training of teachers. Already in March, a representative of Tashenev University will travel to Greece to finalize the cooperation.
“We want our students to study under the academic mobility program within the framework of these agreements and memorandums,” says Parida Baineeva. - Education will be based on our university and abroad, in a remote format and offline. Partner universities will provide students with access to all educational resources. We have already opened a language training center where students and teachers study English and French in depth. This will increase the competitiveness of our graduates. Students will have additional motivation to study well in order to become a participant in the program.
Tashenev University a trains personnel in 43 undergraduate educational programs (pedagogical, arts and humanities, business, management and law, natural sciences, information and communication technologies) and eight magistracy educational programs (pedagogical, natural sciences, business and management, information -communication technologies).
From the new academic year, an agricultural direction will be added, which is based on the creation of an educational and scientific hub, aimed generally at the development of agriculture and the conservation of water resources. Tashenev University is ready to become a technological bridge connecting strategic state interests and representatives of the agricultural industry. For this purpose, the Center for Additional Education of Farmers will be opened to demonstrate how to increase the efficiency of agricultural production. On its basis, Israeli specialists intend to share their experience, technologies, and the results of their research.
The peculiarity of Tashenev University is that practice-oriented learning is being introduced here. Before lunch, students attend lectures, and after that they delve into the intricacies of their future profession. For example, future designers undergo dual training in production classrooms opened by partners directly in the educational building. To do this, the leadership of the university attracted the best designers from Shymkent, signed contracts with enterprises that opened training workshops and provided them with the necessary equipment.
A business incubator has been created at the university, on the basis of which attracted experienced entrepreneurs - mentors teach students how to launch startups. These skills will be useful for starting your own business after graduation.
