Digital Horizons of Language Education: Visit of the Department of World Languages Faculty to the University of Barcelona

From December 14 to December 20, 2025, faculty members of the Department of World Languages of Zhumabek Akhmetuly Tashenev University - Artykbaeva F. I., Tursynova G. I., and Mirzakhmedova Zh. Zh. - visited the University of Barcelona as part of the implementation of a scientific grant project entitled “Integration of Digital Technologies and Gamification in Foreign Language Teaching Based on Artificial Intelligence” (AP26197519). The project is funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the period 2025-2027.

The main objectives of the international research internship at the University of Barcelona included participation in the International Conference on Linguistics and Education (ICLE-25), as well as conducting research activities and establishing academic collaboration with colleagues from Barcelona. The internship focused on studying and analyzing modern international approaches to the application of artificial intelligence in foreign language education. The outcomes of this collaboration will contribute to the implementation of best European AI-based educational practices within the project.
