The open lesson on the topic “Numeral,” conducted within the course “Fundamentals of the Theory of the Taught Foreign Languages (Grammar, Phonetics)” by M.B. Kadyrova, Master of Philology and Senior Lecturer of the Department of World Languages, was discussed with the 2nd-year students of group PHI-24-9r.
The primary purpose of the open lesson was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of English numerals - their types, grammatical features, and functions in sentence structurewhile reinforcing the material through practical tasks. Another important objective was to enhance the effectiveness of teaching through the integration of modern digital tools.
During the lesson, the instructor not only presented a detailed classification of numerals but also actively applied gamification and digitalization methods, making the learning process more engaging and productive. Platforms such as Kahoot, LearningApps, Wayground, WorldWall, Quizizz, and Padlet were used effectively to help students grasp the grammar material more quickly and enjoyably.
The instructor incorporated visual aids, interactive teaching techniques, audio-video materials, various game elements, quizzes, and role-playing activities, which significantly increased student motivation and engagement. These methods enhanced analytical thinking, improved retention of information, and encouraged active participation.
