The Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, established in 2003 on the basis of pedagogical specialties of Syrdarya University, has been reorganized and continues its activities today. Although the name and educational programs of this department have changed several times since its establishment, the heads of the department, including senior lecturer M. Ashimova, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor K. Baimakhanov, candidate of pedagogical sciences L. Myrzabek, candidate of philological sciences D. S. Bolysbayev, associate professor N. A. Saparbayeva, created the material and technical base of the department, paid great attention to the proper organization of educational work, and also trained young specialists who came to teaching. At the same time, they formed a cohesive team that firmly adhered to the principles of morality and mutual respect.
In the 2025-2026 academic year, PhD, Associate Professor Konakbayeva Ulzhamal Zhandaralievna will serve as the head of the Department of "Pedagogy and Psychology".
Today, the department is carrying out many complex tasks, such as organizing educational activities, educating young students, training highly qualified specialists, strengthening the material and technical base of the department, conducting scientific research, and opening new specialties.
The scientific potential of the department is at a high level: 3 associate professorsProfessor, 1 candidate of science, 17 master's degree teachers conduct educational work.
Many professors and teachers are prizewinners of international and republican competitions, "Best teacher of higher education institutions" of the Republic of Kazakhstan, holders of state grants. The educational process is organized using modern educational technologies in accordance with the requirements of state educational standards. In order to train students on a credit system, the department is systematically working to replenish the library with educational and methodological literature, introduce new innovative technologies into the educational process, and informatize and computerize the educational process.All departments have computer classrooms connected to the Internet via a corporate network.
The Department of Pedagogy and Psychology is engaged in the training of teachers and qualified specialists in such educational programs as 6B01103-Psychology (IP), 6B01101-Pedagogy and Psychology, 7M01101-Pedagogy and Psychology. Since its establishment, the Department has trained more than three thousand highly qualified specialists for general and vocational schools of the region and the city.
Currently, the department has 2 lecture halls, 5 study rooms, 6 private offices, such as research methods, cognitive psychology, Mentor Space, graduate academy, empathy resource support, and inclusive education rooms, 1 computer class, 2 study rooms, and 1 department room.

* Nurlykhanovna E. – published an article entitled “Neuropsychological correlates of anxiety in chronic stress” at the international scientific and practical conference “Modern methods of teaching social sciences and humanities: problems and solutions”.
* Irmetov U.A. - published his monograph "Segmented Reading" and published an article "Pedagogical Methods Aimed at Increasing Students' Motivation to Read" in the journal "Scientific Herald" of Tashkent State Pedagogical University.
* Konakbayeva N.Zh. – published an article entitled “Artificial Intelligence in Microteaching Lesson Study: Enhancing Pre-Service Teachers' Confidence and Instructional Quality” in the international journal “Educational Process International Journal”.
