History of the Establishment of the Institute of Pedagogical and Natural Sciences
The Institute of Pedagogical and Natural Sciences is one of the key structural divisions of Zh.A. Tashenov University, implementing educational programs in pedagogical and natural science fields, while coordinating educational, methodological, research, academic, and student development activities.
The Institute was established in accordance with the strategic objectives aimed at modernizing the higher education system of the Republic of Kazakhstan, improving the quality of education, and integrating science and innovation.
The Institute of Pedagogical and Natural Sciences was established by Order No. 9/1-Ө of Zh.A. Tashenov University dated March 03, 2026, with the purpose of improving the organizational structure of the University, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Education”, the regulatory legal acts of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan governing higher and postgraduate education institutions, the University’s Academic Policy, and internal regulatory documents.
The Institute of Pedagogy and Natural Sciences is a structural academic unit that trains highly qualified teaching and natural science personnel. The Institute operates in accordance with the educational regulations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the university's strategic development plan, and modern higher education requirements.
The Institute provides educational activities in the fields of pedagogy and natural sciences. Its educational programs are developed based on the principles of academic mobility, digitalization, internationalization of the educational process, practice-oriented learning, and a competency-based approach. Innovative pedagogical technologies, digital educational resources, and modern teaching methods are widely used in the educational process, aimed at improving the professional development of students.
The Institute's educational environment is aimed at developing students' personal, professional, and research potential. Key areas of the Institute's work include student participation in research, adherence to the principles of academic freedom, establishing connections with professional practice bases, and strengthening partnerships with employers. The faculty systematically ensures the quality of educational programs, enhances research potential, and continuously improves the educational process. The Institute has implemented an internal quality assurance system, mechanisms for assessing educational outcomes, and management principles based on student feedback.
The Institute of Pedagogy and Natural Sciences is a modern academic environment that ensures the continuity of education, science, and practice, delivering high-quality education harmonized with national values and international standards.
The institute's four departments train undergraduate and graduate students in pedagogical sciences, which are in demand in the current labor market.

Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, experienced scholar and educator, a highly qualified specialist with extensive experience in academic leadership, scientific, and pedagogical activities in the higher education system.
Currently, she serves as the Director of the Institute of Pedagogical and Natural Sciences at Zh.A. Tashenov University. She carries out systematic work aimed at ensuring the strategic development of the Institute, improving the quality of education, coordinating research activities, developing quality management in the academic environment, and integrating into the international educational space.
Area of Responsibility
The Director coordinates the academic, scientific, methodological, and organizational activities of the Institute. Her key functional responsibilities include:
• ensuring the implementation of the Institute’s annual work plan and strategic performance indicators;
• monitoring the quality implementation of educational programs;
• ensuring compliance of the educational process with academic policies and curricula;
• monitoring educational quality indicators and ensuring academic integrity;
• coordinating compliance with institutional and specialized accreditation requirements;
• improving the internal quality assurance system;
• promoting research activities of faculty members and encouraging participation in scientific projects;
• developing international cooperation and academic mobility;
• strengthening the Institute’s human resource capacity and supporting young faculty members.
Professional Experience
Sholpan Zhaksylykovna has extensive professional experience in the higher education sector. She began her academic career in 1995 at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University as a trainee researcher, lecturer, and senior lecturer. Subsequently, she successfully served as Scientific Secretary, Head of Department, Faculty Dean, and Head of the Department of Pedagogy.
From 2022 to 2025, she served as Vice-Rector for Research at Zh.A. Tashenov University. In 2025, she became a scholar of the international Bolashak Program under the “500 Scholars” Scientific Internship Program.
Education and Academic Degree
• Graduate of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University, majoring in Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education;
• Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences;
• Holder of the academic title of Associate Professor.

Sholpan Zhaksylykovna has received numerous governmental and institutional awards for her outstanding professionalism, achievements in scientific and pedagogical activities, and contributions to the development of education. Among them:

• Recipient of the Rector’s Award in the “Best Department” nomination (2010);
• Awarded the Y. Altynsarin Badge and a Certificate of Honor by the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan for significant achievements in educating the younger generation (2011);
• Recipient of the Rector’s Letter of Appreciation for contribution to student enrollment development (2015–2016);

• Awarded the “80 Years of SKSPU” commemorative badge (2017);
• Recognized as “Best Lecturer of the Year” (2017);
